In 2018, Lisa Marie had been involved in litigation with Barry Siegel concerning the management of her finances. She alleged serious financial mismanagement and claimed her wealth had dramatically declined. Siegel disputed her allegations and countersued. The dispute became another chapter in the long and complicated financial history surrounding Elvis Presley’s only child.

Priscilla stepped away from her trustee role and received financial and other benefits under the agreement. The settlement also addressed Priscilla’s future burial at Graceland and other family arrangements.
So while the early headlines made the dispute sound like an irreparable family confrontation, the documented legal outcome tells a more complicated story.
Priscilla did challenge the validity of the document that removed her as trustee. Riley ultimately became the sole trustee. And the family reached a settlement rather than continuing the fight to a final contested trial.
Perhaps the most haunting part is that Lisa Marie herself is no longer here to explain exactly what she wanted.
Her life had always been tied to the enormous Presley legacy. She was Elvis and Priscilla Presley’s only child, the person who inherited her father’s estate, and later the mother of children who would inherit the next chapter of that legacy.
Now that responsibility has passed to Riley.
And Graceland—the home that once belonged to Elvis, then became part of Lisa Marie’s legacy—is now connected to Riley Keough’s future as well.
The legal battle may have ended, but the questions surrounding Lisa Marie’s final wishes continue to fascinate Presley fans.
